The solution is to never drink a red wine that is less than ten years old and a white that is less than five years old.

After many years of enjoying a tasty glass of wine, quite suddenly I began to have a bad reaction even after only a couple of sips. It was not obvious right away but the next day, I was very sick. I felt as though I had a terrible hang-over, yet I had only consumed one glass of red wine. What’s up…. what’s happened to my body?
Well, if you’re one of the many women who react to wine this way, take heed; there might be a solution. Try it out! You could be looking at rounding out a wonderful meal with a glass of “mother nature’s” best offering.
The solution is to never drink a red wine that is less than ten years old and a white that is less than five years old. It tends to work best with red wine. If I really want to drink a couple of glasses of suspect wine I also take a 24 hour anti histamine tablet such as Claramax. It is the histamine in the wine that causes the reaction; so, if you know you are going to have a drink, have the anti histamine at least one hour before you drink the wine.
An other option is to drink champagne or sparkling wine. For some reason, the reaction doesn’t seem to be as severe.
Of course, there are many non-alcoholic beverages on the market and I am not encouraging women to start imbibing. I’m simply offering this information for those who wish to drink wine and have a bad reaction to it.
