Home Remedies for Treating Dry Skin

Everybody wants to have soft, smooth and plump skin but not all people are blessed with it. Dry skin problems are usually more troublesome during the winter season and hence need to be cared for properly.

An effective remedy for keeping skin dryness under control during the winter season is the use of plenty of moisturizer. If you suffer from dry skin, apply some of the natural remedies given below to get relief for this problem.

An excellent home remedy is to keep hydrated. Water can provide hydration to your entire body and that includes your skin. So drink at least 12 to 14 glasses of water each day to keep your skin moist and plump. This is the best home remedy that I can recommend for treatment of dry skin.

Avoid using soaps that contain harsh chemicals. For bathing, use a gentle soap or preferably a soap with moisturizer. For facial skin, use a mild face wash or a gentle cleanser. Avoid washing your face more than twice a day as excessive cleaning can increase the skin dryness and further aggravate your problem.

You can reduce skin dryness and make it look supple and soft by applying mashed banana on your face and if needed, on your arms. Apply this before taking a shower or before taking a bath and rinse it with lukewarm water. Don’t use hot water otherwise you won’t get any benefit. On the contrary, using hot water can increase your problem and make your skin drier. Application of mashed banana can produce an incredible result.

Fresh fruits and vegetables, when consumed can improve the texture and look of your skin. These foods have plenty of vital nutrients which fulfill the basic requirements for maintaining good health. You will notice a big difference in the appearance of your skin if you include a substatial amount of fruit and vegetables in your diet. To rejuvenate and add plumpness to your skin you can experiment with fruit by applying grapes or avocados on your skin.
